"Next morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered to the roots. Peter remembered, 'Look Rabbi, he said to Jesus, the fig tree that you cursed has withered away.' Jesus answered, 'Have faith in God. In truth, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, "Be pulled up and thrown into the sea with no doubt in his heart, but believing what he says will happen, it will be done for him. I tell you, therefore, everything you ask and pray for, believe that you have it already and it will be yours. And when you stand in prayer, forgive whatever you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your failings, too." Mk 11: 20-25
One that we have to fear only: God. For God as the King of heaven and earth can do anything! God's mercy alone could seal our life here and after. It was very clear: Have faith in God. That means have faith not in money, not in human or any other power, not in any endeavour, not in vanity or pride or vices or works of the flesh but have faith in God alone!
But our faith sometimes is conditional. When we are happy, we have faith. When we have good times and have plenty of money, then we have faith. No! We should have faith in joy and in sorrow, in plenty and in want, in peace and in chaos.
Life could be complicated at times, but we are the one who makes it complex. It is just simple, we need something---we pray to God. If we believe that it will be given to us, then it will be given. We ask ourselves, "How do I know if God will give it to me?" That is an attitude of pride and sense of security. God gives to the person who has 100 percent faith, one who begs like a child to his father. Then he ask, Why do I need to beg? Pride again! Of course, we have to beg! We are not the Owner of the Universe. It's our Heavenly Father, God the Father! So we ask, we beg and since we are His children, He will grant us. But wait, if we love our Heavenly Father we have to trust Him unconditionally, isn't it?
It is not enough to say that we love God! We have to prove our love by complete trust and surrender to Him. Have faith, there is no way! Faith and love and hope...
In Jesus Holy Name,
Amen
