"You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, 'my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.' For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence, He will cover you with his pinions and under his wings, you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day, or the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or the destruction that wastes at noonday. (Ps 91: 1-6, NRSV Catholic Edition).
"Be not afraid!, Thus says the Lord many times in Scripture. Yet, here we are worried and anxious for every little thing. Yes, life pose so many challenges. However, we do not have to give in to negative thoughts. The Lord promised that He will protect us. Then we ponder, but why did this thing happened?
The question is: Did we trust the Lord 100 percent? Or did we doubt His everlasting goodness. We must trust the Lord at all times, in joy and in sorrow, in good times and bad times!
How do we know that those bad times maybe a wake-up call for us, to change and to be a better person? Let us examine ourselves...
Let us pray today that God Almighty give us the gift of trust and total abandonment to His will. That the Lord will make us aware of His eternal goodness, love and mercy. That the Lord will forgive us from our lapse of trust. Lord, hear our prayer! In Lord Jesus Name. Amen.
