WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT, TO SAVE YOUR SOUL OR TO RELISH IN THE WORLD? REFLECTION BY MARIA CASSIA

Many are fascinated by the world and it's glitter.  Fame, money and all their trappings
allure most people and why not?  The comfort brought by millions, of course, is
just sparkling.  It satisfies the flesh and one is in his comfort zone.  For this is the
predisposition of man, since the Lord has not yet removed the concupiscence of
the flesh so as to be exposed to trials and testing!

On the other hand, look at the outcome of people who had Mammon (money) as
their god!  No peace unless their centre is God Himself.  But when one has too much
money, there is a tendency to forget God.  One has become self-sufficient because one
seem invulnerable.

On second thought, one cannot have two gods, God and mammon.  There is only one
choice.  The salvation of one's soul is of ultimate importance.  "For what profit have
you if you gain the whole world (fame, money, vanity)  if you lose your soul?"
Nothing!  For eternity is long!  Which would one prefer, eternity of bliss in heaven
or eternity of torment?
