The Ocean Trench by Maria Cassia

Oblivion fills my heart at dawn

Ecstasy faded as the moon moan

No more joy as tears barely drown

The moon has darkened eerie town.

It was not forever, just a quick wind,

The spark was gone, rowed  blind

Over the bayou, gone without shine!

So broken and shattered as glass...

Alone in the dark, no more zest,

The lover meanders like a bird,

Saw a beautiful nest to quest,

Done for good, no more dearth!
