Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. …………….and the God of peace will be with you” Phil 4:8-9
Joel Osteen constantly says that our negative thoughts give direction to our lives. I guess, St Paul is of the same opinion because he is encouraging us to think of whatever is worthy of praise. The end of vs 9 says if we keep our thoughts positive and faith in Jesus alive and active, the God of peace will be with us. Let us all give this a try from today….Every negative word that we hear, let us ignore it and turn it to a positive one, every negative thought of ours let us not express it, rather, let us turn it into a positive thought and express that. In the beginning we will have to consciously remember to do this, but gradually it will become part of us. (If the Holy Spirit dwells in us, then we will start to exhibit the traits worthy of praise. Beautiful reflection! Thanks Jane). Cynthia Abegail for New World.
