Treasure in Jars of Clay: Reflection by Jane Pimenta of Prsyer Aid

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.  We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.  2 Cor 4:7-9

When we sit quietly before the Lord, we find peace.  When we find peace, we will begin to have faith, when we have faith we will begin to love, and when we have love we will begin to trust God more and share His love with others.  But it all begins with quiet time. (this is the way I see it)  God KNOWS what we are going through.  There is no one who is not going through a difficult time, each of us will handle these times differently.   Our one and only need is, to know God more and what He can do for us in our situation.  Let us ask ourselves, “What is this treasure Paul is speaking about?”  Sit quietly and try and find that answer, once we find the answer, we will find a lot more.  (Thanks Jane for this beautiful and relevant reflection on how to approach difficult times.  Only God can help us and we have to be aware that we are jars of clay filled with this eternal treasure.  God is awesome).  Cynthia Abegail for New World
