“Feed the hungry even your enemies” Reflection by Jane Pimenta of Prayer Aid Group

“If our enemies are hungry feed them.  If they are thirsty give them something to drink for by doing this you will heap burning colas on their heads” Romans 12:19

Today’s scripture vs is very challenging.   It is calling us to be good and kind to the one who is disturbing our peace.  Our tendency would be to ignore the person, and write them off our book.   But in Jesus’ book (bible) He says do good to them!  Follow His example.  He set us a great example when He prayed from the Cross:   “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”  people who hurt and wound others, do not know what they are doing.  They do not know that they are breaking their relationship with Jesus and others!  Let us pray today for the mighty grace to forgive even though we may feel like hitting back….God be with each of us as we strive to Follow Him and remain in relationship with Him.

(It is God-given grace to be able to forgive.  We can’t do it by ourselves and we do need help from our Lord!  When one forgives, that person remove the burden on his heart!  That’s one of the ways to follow our Lord Jesus.  It’s not easy but possible with God alone).
